While you prepare for your court date, here are some more tools that may help:

1) Learn about your rights as a tenant.

2) Learn about more resources that may be able to help with food and other bills.

We understand that finding new housing with a pending court date is extremely difficult, especially when money is tight. And, unfortunately, there are very limited resources helping people find new housing. Here are a few ideas:

  • If there is a child who attends JCPS, please reach out to the Family Resource Coordinator in their school.

  • If you have Medicaid, call the phone number on the back of your card and ask for a care or benefit navigator.

  • If the worst happens and you lose your home and have no where to go, call 502-637-2337 for Emergency Shelter options. All homeless individuals should also call Family Health Centers at 502-637-2080 to arrange for a common assessment screening. This may help connect you with additional resources.
